Fresh low pressure: More rains from Aug 3

The Agromet advisory of the Odisha University of Agriculture Technology (OUAT) on Friday said the State would have a fresh spell of rainfall from Sunday under the influence of another depression brewing over the Bay of Bengal.

“A cyclonic circulation is likely to be formed over north Bay of Bengal on August 2 and turn into a low pressure in the adjoining area the next day from where it would move in the north-west direction towards Chhattisgarh. Since the low pressure would be tilted towards the south-west direction, most parts in the coastal and southern districts would receive more rainfall in the next four days,” a release by the Agromet advisory said.

While moderate rainfall is likely in some parts of coastal and central Odisha, heavy-to-very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts in the north, west and south Odisha.
