Fresh case likely against Artha Tatwa

Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) Additional Director Manoj Kumar Sahoo on Wednesday informed that a fresh case may be filed against the tainted Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chit fund company if any remarkable proof is established over violation of the Companies Act.

For the third consecutive day on Wednesday, a team of SFIO headed by Sahoo interrogated AT Group chief Pradeep Sethy and four of his jailed associates at the Jharpada Special Jail here.

“Money trailing and financial transaction of the company will come under the purview of investigation. Fresh case will be registered against the company if any remarkable proof is established over violation of the Companies Act,” said Sahoo.

Sethy’s four associates Manoj Patnaik, Jyotiprakash Jayprakash, Srikrushna Padhi and Deepak Parekh, are directors of the company. All the five key persons of the AT Group were interrogated.

The SFIO, he said, has been looking into which rules under the Companies Act have been violated by the AT Group.

The SFIO investigation is being conducted on the order of the Special CBI designated court in Bhubaneswar. The court had ordered SFIO to interrogate AT Group’s chairman and directors and submit the report within a month.

Sethy had earlier alleged that two Ministers of the State have taken money from him.
