Octogenarian freedom-fighter Braja Kishore Mohapatra of Dhenkanal has been nominated for the prestigious Kapilash Samman, mounted by the District Council of Culture, during the 16th Dhenkanal Mahotsav scheduled to be held from May 4 to 8. Mohapatra was selected for the award at a meeting of the award committee held at the district Collectorate under the chairmanship of Chairman of Goa State Human Rights Commission Justice Prafulla Mishra on Friday.
Besides, the committee nominated Dr Bidhan Chandra Mishra for Mahima Satya Samman, Gouri Shankar Dash for Mahima Nrutya Samman, Suresh Mishra for Mahima Natya Samman, Paresh Chandra Pattnaik for Mahima Chitrakala Samman, Tamala Moharana for Mahima Hasta Kala Samman, Prasana Pattnaik for Mahima Krida Samman, Brajakishore Singh for Mahima Krushi Samman, Brajabandhu Ranasingh for Mahima Sangeeta Samman and Dr Sadananda Rout for Mahima Seva Samman. Moreover, SDPO Rajkishore Dora has been selected for the Bhima Bhoi Samman and Ashok Satpathy for Bajirout Bravery award.
