'Free Youth Cong leaders held at Naveen Niwas'

Opposition Chief Whip and Jeypore MlA Tara Prasad Bahinipati has demanded release of four youth Congress leaders arrested two days ago in front of Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar.

Bahinipati said the arrest was illegal as the leaders were protesting in a peaceful and democratic manner.

In a Press meet on Thursday at Jeypore, Bahinipati alleged that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was misusing police, because he is in charge of the Home Department. Patnaik is answerable to the people of the State as he has no right to suppress the democratic protests, said Bahinipati.

He also criticised the Government for the silence of the police when the BJD leaders were attacking the Central Ministers at Bargarh. Now Congress will not tolerate the goondaism of the BJD anymore and will protest it throughout the State, said MlA Bahinipati.

Bahinipati also demanded that the Koraput DEO be arrested for allegedly harassing a lady teacher sexually at Koraput.
