Free electric vehicle service launched

Published on:

After successfully launching electric vehicle (EV) service free of cost at the Puri railway station in March this year, the Nalco once again extended EV service at the Bhubaneswar and Cuttack railway stations for the benefit of senior citizens, differently-abled passengers and sick people in association with the East Coast Railway.

The new free EV initiative, which was rolled out on Tuesday in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, would also cater to large numbers of people who throng the State for tourism and religious purpose every year.

The EV service was flagged off by Nalco CMD Dr Tapan Kumar Chand and Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Braj Mohan Agarwal.

One of the significant steps in EV service is its operations and maintenance would be done by an expert agency under the aegis of Nalco.
