Even as cybercrimes are on the rise, it has come to light that fraudsters are hacking social media accounts like Facebook and siphoning off money from people on grounds of medical emergency.
On Saturday, a teacher of a private coaching centre lodged an FIR with Sahadevkhunta police alleging that someone has hacked his social media account and hacker sent a request to his student for financial help through messenger stating he had some medical emergencies. He could only come to know when one of his students phoned him up and asked whether he had emergencies.
