The Commissionerate police on Monday detained an alleged fraudster, known as ‘Golden Baba’, here for allegedly duping a resident of Keonjhar district.
The accused was identified as Jyotiranjan Beura. According to reports, the police was on the lookout for Buera for a long time in connection with various fraud cases following complaints lodged by the victims. Total 19 cases are pending against him in various police stations.
Decked up in gold jewelries, he was attending BJD’s various programmes identifying himself as a party worker in the city. Earlier, he was residing at Niladri Vihar area. Later, he was spotted in Kalarahanga and other parts of the city and he subsequently fled to Delhi.
