FPI proposes 'PMG' brand politics in India

Published on:

For a healthy public life, mixed PR (proportional representation) system of elections, backed by “PMG” (pollution-free, money-free, goon-free brand of politics) is required, said the Freethought Party of India (FPI) in a release.

The party said that there is no necessity at all for any leader to address huge gatherings by polluting the air and raising the dust because of deploying large numbers of vehicles for the purpose. This is happening because of huge funding of political parties. There should be “pollution-free” politics and to reach out to the masses, the leaders may take help of media.

In the second place, elections should be “money-free” and “goon-free”. Freebies should not be allowed. No intimidation of any community of voters should be tolerated, it said.

Besides by adopting the fairest method of election, i.e the German brand of mixed PR system, no political party remains over-represented or under-represented. By this, every section of the Indian voters gets adequately represented, said FPI secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire.
