The Freethought Party of India (FPI) has come out with a five-point strategy to bring an end to the rising farmer suicide cases.
The strategies include execution of one-child family norm to bring down population, irrigation of cultivable land, quality education to children in schools to remove gap between the rich and the poor and opening up of standard English medium schools at gram panchayat level.
The FPI also stressed that love marriage should be promoted all over the country and low budget marriage should be carried out. Besides, each gram panchayat should have funds to give loan to the needy farmers.
If these programmes are adhered to in true letter and spirit, the farmer suicide cases could be brought under control, said FPI general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire through a Press statement.
