The Freethought Party of India and AMOFOI felicitated Goldman Green Nobel laureate Prafulla Samal on the occasion of 87th birthday of former Chief Minister Nandini Satpathy and 43rd anniversary of the “Jati-Jatak-Jautuk-Tod Secular love Marriage Movement” held here on Friday.
Besides, two outstanding couples leading one-child families, Prafulla Samantara and retired Prof Usharani Acharya and Manas Jena, president of the Odisha Dalit Adhikar Manch and Smitarani Patnaik (in absentia) were honoured for going in for caste-breaking love marriage.
FPI president Dr Bijayanadan Kar and general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire felicitated them.
A rationalist book in Odia, “Hetubadi Jeebanbodha” written by Prof Dhaneswar Sahoo was formally released on the occasion.
Voltaire presented a paper entitled as “Flat leaders are the Bane of Indian Democracy: We need to Discard them and Elect all the “Straight” leaders having the Right Vision to lead and Reform the Socio-Political life of India”.
