The Freethought Party of India (FPI) has demanded that BMC Mayor Anant Narayan Jena quit his post at the earliest as his image is under public scanner.
“Since the sex CD, which may be real or fabricated, came to the fore a week ago, public perception has been against the Mayor. Political parties like the Congress and the BJP and a big section of the civil society have been organising bandhs and Chaka Jams by burning tyres on public thoroughfares, thereby causing air and noise pollution. Either Jena should tender his resignation or BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik direct him to quit the office at the earliest,” demanded FPI State general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire in a statement.
Voltaire opined that it would be in the best interest of public ethics and good governance if Jena quits his Mayor post.
