An extremely shocking shameful incident has been reported from the Nilgiri area in Baleswar district where a four-year-old girl was raped after being lured with chocolates by a youth and her private parts were mutilated.
The victim was admitted to a local hospital. The Nilgiri police launched probe to nab the accused following a complaint was filed by the victim’s family on Saturday.
According to reports, the incident occurred at Hata Sahi under the Nilagiri police limits on April 13.
The complaint in the FIR said the accused Nityachandan alias Jiban Jena (24) had called the girl, the daughter of Sudarshan Jena of Hata Sahi village, to his home alluring her with chocolates while she was playing on the road in front of her house.
Jiban allegedly raped the girl in his house and mutilated her private parts. The victim told everything about the incident to her mother. After her condition deteriorated, the family rushed her to the Nilgiri hospital.
As per the complaint, Sudarshan told about the incident to Jiban’s father Rabindra Jena, who initially assured him of paying the medical expenses for treatment of the girl and resolve the matter at a village meeting. However later, the family of the accused threatened the victim’s father to kill him if he disclosed it to anyone.
