Four public sector undertakings (PSUs) of the State, Kalinga Studios ltd, Kalinga Jute ltd, Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation ltd and Idcol Kalinga Iron Works ltd, are sustaining losses repeatedly, informed Public Enterprises Minister Pradip Amat in the Assembly on Monday.
Stating that there is no proposal with the Government for revival of the closed and financial weak PSUs, the Minister informed that while steps are being taken to renovate the village complex of the Kaling Studio to make it operational with the budgetary support of the Government, the Bhatia OSl Washeries and Minerals would take over the Kalinga Jute ltd after a final order is passed by the company court on payment of dues.
The Minister informed that the Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation is running with continuous losses while steps are being taken for sale/joint venture of the Idcol Kalinga Iron Works. The Minister further informed that the Government is focusing on seven points for turnaround of the loss making PSUs.
