The Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch after marathon interrogation arrested four associates of gangster Tito on Wednesday.
Those arrested are among the eight persons detained by the STF after raids at different places in the city on Monday night.
The arrested include Golden Papu, Abdullaha, Imtiaz Khan and Jahangir Khan. All of them have criminal records.
Sources said Abdullah, being the right hand of Tito, was carrying out tender-fixing and extortion activities on behalf of the gangster. Abdullah was earlier arrested on charges of involvement in illegal cow trafficking but was out of jail on bail.
Similarly, Golden Papu another key associate was also helping the gangster in planning and executing various crimes in the city.
Though Tito has been lodged in the Barimula jail, sources say, he is still operating through his network and carrying out several criminal activities.
The STF has also summoned two brothers of Tito, who were his partners in crime and are suspected to have gone underground.
Earlier, on Saturday, the Crime Branch had arrested two sharpshooters SK Sayed and Babula Pati for having links with Tito. While Pati was nabbed from Kendrapada, Sayed was arrested from Cuttack. More than 25 cases of loot and extortion are pending against the duo.
The agency is also likely to take Tito on remand for interrogation once again in connection with firing on brother of terror suspect Abdur Rehman at Jagatpur in the city.
