The Dhenkanal police arrested four persons — laxmidhar Sahu, Tima Pattnaik, Nira Sahu and Naresh Mohapatra — on Sunday morning for allegedly ransacking the ENZEN office at Anand Nagar here on Saturday.
According to sources, despite assurance from the district administration that ENZEN workers would not be allowed to collect electricity bills, a rumour went round that the company’s staff were again deployed for meter readings and collection of dues.
Based on the rumour, some local residents, without consultation with the steering committee members and inviting a public meeting, ransacked the ENZEN office.
Meanwhile, the police are in search of others involved in the violence on the basis of an FIR filed with the Town police by ENZEN on Saturday.
