The Jatni police on Friday arrested and court-forwarded four persons for their alleged involvement in illegal lifting of laterite stone from the Infocity-II area. They were identified as Prafulla Kumar Nayak, Ula Behera, Abhimanyu Das and Fakira Nayak.
Acting on a tipoff, the police late on Thursday night raided an illegal laterite stone quarry located in Kashipur village in the backside of Infocity-II area and caught the four arrested persons red-handed.
Two trucks, two power tillers and one motorcycle were seized from their possession. Notably, the police had conducted a similar raid on illegal stone quarry at Harapur village under the Jatni police station two months ago.
