In a shocking incident, at least four members, including two infants, of a family were charred to death and two others were seriously injured in a fire mishap in the residential colony of Markatnagar here on Thursday evening.
According to police, one Arun Kumar Sahoo of Keonjhar was staying on rent in the house located in the Sector-7 area.
ACP SN Das said Sahoo was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital with the injured. The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained. Neighbours said it could be either cooking gas leak because all the dead persons received third degree burn injuries.
