The Kosal Academics Forum (KAF) held a meet on Thursday here under the chairmanship of Kosal State co-ordination committee president Pramod Mishra.
Dr K Venkata Swamy was the chief guest while C Vaskar Rao, M Ramakrishnaiah and former Utkal University VC Sadhu Charan Panda attended as guests of honour.
The objective of the forum was to reach out to the masses to chalk out a plan for formation of a separate Kosal State.
“The KAF’s primary task is to bring all shades of intellectuals under one umbrella and arrive at the overriding objective of sensitising people of Kosalanchal for formation of a separate State as self governance through a separate State is the only answer to all its problems,” said the Kosal State Co-ordination Committee (KSCC) members. A six-member delegation including Prof K Tirupat, Prof A Rabindra and KV Chanakya (student leader) of Telengana State came to encourage the people of Kosal to form a separate State alike Telengana was carved out from Andra Pradesh.
Padmashree Haldhar Nag and veteran artist Atal Mohapatra were felicitated on the occasion. Among others, Sunil Purohit, Prof Jatindra Mood and Prof Muktar Bhoi were present.
