The Forum for Ganjam organised a Padyatra and urged all voters to vote for candidates of their choice and not to get biased in any way.
“It is observed during elections that people are influenced by haranguers, rabble rousers and people with vested interests and indulged in violence.
Hence, voters should be conscious of it to ensure a peaceful and free and fair election,” said forum functionaries at a Press meet here.
The padyatris on white attire displayed posters with slogans for mass voting and to eschew violence and intoxicants on their chest and back. Street corner meetings were also held to educate people about the EVM machine.
Forum members Jamula Suresh, Swarajya Subudhi, Shaym Sundar Khadanga, E Tejeswar Rao, Prashant Muni, Bhimsen Sahu, Suresh Tripathy, Jamula Satyanarayan, Sabita Sahukar, Raja Suresh, Manas Patro, Susant Sabat, V Santosh and Sudhir Kumar Raut participated.
