The members also discussed about necessary amendments required in the Act and guidelines to be incorporated for its implementation. Some of the suggestions mooted include simplification of Odia words that can be used appropriately in administration, courts and trade and commerce, current status of digitalization of the language and its development and steps required for developing Odia studies and research. They also resolved to recommend to the Government to conduct all competitive exams in the State in Odia.

“The Government should also immediately appoint Odia lecturers and teachers to fill up the vacant posts in all colleges and universities. Besides, steps should be taken for computerisation of the language,” said Sammilani president Baishnab Parida.
