A Forest Department staff died after sustaining critical injuries in an elephant attack at Mangalajodi village under the Tangi police limits in Khordha district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Surendra Behera. According to reports, the pachyderm had attacked Behera on Monday when he was trying to send the jumbo back to forest.
He was grievously injured and admitted to theCapital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.
In a similar incident, a resident of Tuluka village in the Satkosia sanctuary of Angul district was killed after being attacked by an elephant on Tuesday.
