Exposing the failure of the Commissionerate police in combating street crimes in the State capital, unidentified miscreants allegedly robbed a foreign national in front of the Kharavela Hotel in broad daylight on Saturday.
Surprisingly, the hotel is less than 300 metre from the Khandagiri police station. The victim, identified as Elina, is a student from Norway.
Elina was on her way to Khandagiri by an auto-rickshaw when two miscreants looted her two laptops and fled. She lodged a complaint in this regard with the Khandagiri police. Acting on the complaint, police initiated an investigation into the matter. A manhunt to nab the looters was underway, the police said.
Notably, recently, armed miscreants had robbed money and valuables from some commuters and taken selfies with the victims in the same area. But police are yet to identify or nab the miscreants.
