The Government has set a target to include 14, 84,360 beneficiaries under the National Food Security Programme in Keonjhar district in the financial year 2015-16. So far the district administration has received applications from 16, 49, 968 beneficiaries.
Revenue Division Commissioner, Northern Zone, NBS Rajput during a review meeting here asked the district administration to scrutinize and finalise the applications of the deserving beneficiaries within two days.
The RDC also reviewed the development of other programmes but stressed on the implementation of the National Food security Act 2013 and directed that quick steps should be taken on its implementation. The Block Development Officers (BDOs) were asked to review the progress of various programmes at the block level at regular intervals. Collector NThirumala Nayak, ADM Sangram Kesari Swain, PD DRDA Biranchi Narayan Mohanty explained about the progress and achievement of different development programmes in the district.
