The State Government on Thursday decided to set up a Food Safety Appellate Tribunal in Bhubaneswar.
A judicial officer of the rank of District Judge would be the head of the tribunal, which would conduct hearing on disputes relating to violation of the provisions of the Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved a proposal in this regard on Thursday.
