With the death of Banita Padhi, death toll in the Pandara Sahi suspected food poisoning case went up to five on Tuesday.Earlier on Monday, Bhuban Padhi of Pandara Sahi here and his three sons Pramod, Prasanna and Pankaj had earlier succumbed to suspected food-poisoning.
While Pramod had died at 4.15 am on Monday Pankaj passed away at 6.50 am. Prasanna, who was referred to a Visakhapatnam hospital due to absence of ventilators and ICU beds at MKCG, had died on the way.
The condition of the Prasant, elder son of deceased Bhuban is stated to be very critical. Earlier, Prof Diptimoyee Tripathy, Head of Medicine Department at MKCG, said she suspected food poisoning to be the cause of the deaths.
