'Followers' mercilessly troll Khattar during Q&A session

After holding his first live Q&A session on Twitter earlier this year, the tech-savvy Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar on Thursday held another such session though he came under attack from his followers as it was not a live Q&A session.

The Chief Minister, who is fairly active on social media, invited questions from the public in the morning under #ManoKeMukhSe.

However, the Chief Minister was mercilessly trolled after many of his followers did not receive any reply to their queries from him during the Q&A session between 10-11 am. While the non-live session was going on, some even tried to trend #BehaalHaryana raising a number of issues from scams to unfulfilled poll promises of the Khattar Government.

later, the Chief Minister had to clarify about the non-live Q&A session, with a tweet, “Thank you for your questions. As this was a non-live session, I will answer as many questions as possible later today. #ManoKeMukhSe”

The questions were related to virtually every issue ranging from land acquisition, housing issues, poor health and education infrastructure, non-action on complaints at CM window among others.

Some posts were also suggestions on bringing in new initiatives for public welfare while some also took a dig at BJP’s failure on delivering on its poll promises.

While many questions were answered during late evening by the Chief Minister, there were also instances of individual queries not being responded to.

A special team looked after the Q&A session and helped the Chief Minister in answering the questions.

Answering a series of questions on abrupt hike of fees in private schools, the Chief Minister replied that the State Government was considering an amendment in the rules in this regard to obviate abrupt hikes.

On a question related to compensation given to the farmers during BJP regime, he replied that more than Rs2,300 crore compensations had been given and this was more than double the sum of compensations given by all Governments since 1966.

Responding to a question related to adding more ambulances to existing fleet in the State, the Chief Minister said his Government was adding 100 more ambulances.

Responding to another question on ex-servicemen, Khattar said the State Government would soon set up a separate department for the welfare of the ex-servicemen in the State.  On being asked about taking action on Prakash Singh Committee report related to laxity of officers during Jat quota reservation, he said, “More than 50 officers chargesheeted, a dozen suspended & some even dismissed. Many recommendations already acted upon.”

About NPR to decongest most of the Gurugram traffic and DwarkaExpressway, he replied, “ @ArvindKejriwal should be asked this. Frustrated by non-cooperation by Delhi Govt, we have got it declared as NH.”

The 62-years-old Chief Minister has been actively utilising the social media including Facebook and Twitter to share information about various day-to-day events and initiatives of Haryana Government. He has more than two lakh followers on Twitter. Khattar had become BJP’s first Chief Minister in the State in the year 2014.
