There is a need of adhering to the school bus norms set by the Supreme Court. The school authorities as well as the owners, drivers and helpers of the school buses have to take special care in this regard, said the speakers at a district-level meeting on “Transport of School Children” held here on Wednesday.The meeting was convened by Mayurbhanj RTO Sarat Chandra Das and organised jointly by Odisha Road Safety Society and Mayurbhanj Regional Transport Authority.The meeting which was held as part of observance of the Road Safety Week was among others, attended by the Mayurbhanj ADM, senior police officials of the district and members of the parents-teachers associations of different schools of the town and nearby areas.
