BJD spokesperson Dr Sasmit Patra on Monday requested Bhubaneswar BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi to follow the Covid guidelines set by the Central and State Governments and not set a bad example for people by repeatedly violating them. Patra alleged that Sarangi has been regularly violating the Covid norms.
“The MP along with her supporters broke social distancing norm as they attended a flyover Bhoomi Pujan programme today. Earlier, she had been fined for violating Covid rules. She had also accepted the mistake and her party had termed it as sad. Still, she continues violating the norms,” remarked Patra in a statement.
Stating that 4.5 crore people of Odisha have respected Covid-related appeals of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Patra charged that Sarangi with her repeated violations is setting a bad example before people despite being an elected representative.
