Health and Family Welfare Minister Damodar Rout on Tuesday confirmed that five persons have died in diarrhoea so far in the State.
While three persons died in Kendrapada district, one each died in Keonjhar and Balangir. He also ruled out the allegation that three persons of a family were victims of dirrhoea.
“They died due to food poisoning. Every possible preventive measure is already in place to check the dirrhoea outbreak in some parts of the State,” said Rout, adding that from January this year 889 persons from various districts were affected by dirrhoea. The Minister too claimed that there is no casualty in dengue.
