Police have seized as many as five cars, two pistols, four live bullets, five bombs and land documents during raids on houses and crusher unit of arrested former BMC Mayor Siva Shankaar Dash alias Pintu recently, informed Brahmapur SP Ashish Singh.
Addressing a Press conference here on Thursday, the SP said five vehicles seized from Shiva Shankar’s houses at Salia Bandh and other places included a Maruti Swift, a Tata Sumo, a Tata Safari, a Scorpio and a Mahndra SUV. The vehicles have been registered in the names of different persons, he said.
Similarly, two pistols and other ammunitions were seized during raids on the stone crusher unit located at B Nuagaon, he said.
While 23 cases had been filed against the former Mayor earlier, six new cases registered at different police stations recently and many complaints, mostly related to land fraud, are still being received by police, he said.
Informing that as many as seven associates of Pintu have already been arrested, Singh said the police would apply to the court to bring him on a fresh remand.
Among others, Additional SP Trinath Patel, SDPO Santanu Dash, Golanthara PS IIC Alok Jena and Gosaninuagaon PS IIC SS Mohapatra were present.
