A 60-year-old fisherman was killed by some fishermen of Andalo village under the Binjharapur police station in Jajpur district on Saturday.
The deceased fisherman was identified as Keshaba Mallick of of Falapur village. Police investigations revealed that a dispute among the fishermen of Andalo and Falapur is reason behind the murder.
Sources said some fishermen of Andalo attacked Keshaba with sharp weapons while he was going to the nearby government hospital at Singhpur passing through the Andalo village.
He was rushed to the Government Hospital at Binjharapur and later was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Binjharapur police station IIC Asit Ranjan Mohanty said, “He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.”
