A fisherman was killed when he accidentally fell off a boat near Takchua in Dhamra on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Lalmohan Singh of Mayurbhanj district.
The mishap occurred when Lalmohan was returning after catching fish. He fell into the sea from the board due to the impact of Cyclone ‘Bulbul’.
In another incident, as many as eight fishermen had a narrow escape after the boat they were aboard capsized near the Kali Bhanjadiha beach in Dhamra late on Friday night.
The victims had gone for fishing, but their boat capsized under the impact of the cyclone. But they managed to swim ashore and were reported to be safe.
