The district administration on Saturday sealed a fish market on the bank of Chilika lake after a fish trader of the market tested Covid-19 positive on the day. Besides, Khordha Collector Sitanshu Kumar Rout also ordered closure of two fish godowns and three ice factories owned by the infected fish trader with an aim to contain the spread of the virus.
Besides, the district administration ordered that no vehicle carrying fish would ply to Ganjam district. The restrictions would remain in force until further orders.
A significant number of coronavirus cases have been detected in Khordha district. So far, a total of 1,865 persons in the district have tested positive for the virus.
