A medical practitioner, Dr Sailesh Mishra, working in the United Kingdom became the first Odia to receive Covid-19 vaccine that was rolled out in the country by the Pfizer on Tuesday.
“I am working in a hospital which is one of the 51 centres where the vaccine has been rolled out,” said Dr Mishra.
“I was pretty emotional as my mother is in India and I haven’t been able to see her in the last nine months as I might pose a threat to her. This vaccine will be a game-changer,” he said, adding, I am hoping that normalcy will return soon and vaccine will be available in India.”
