The Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), a constituent of the KIIT University here, has got accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration laboratories (NABl).
The KIMS is the first medical college and hospital in Odisha to get this accreditation.The KIMS has a state-of-the-art central laboratory and radio diagnosis facilities. Advanced medical tests are done here with ultramodern equipments. As all testing processes are completed in the KIMS itself, patients now need not depend upon labs located outside Odisha for critical medical diagnosis.
The NABl is an autonomous body under the aegis of the Central Government’s Department of Science & Technology.Expressing his satisfaction, Founder of KIIT & KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta thanked the efforts of staff and doctors of all laboratories of the KIMS for this achievement. It would be easy to take advantage of the facilities by the people of Odisha, he added.
