A security guard stabbed a woman employee of a private organisation to death at GGP Colony under the Mancheswar police station in the capital city on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Bijayeeni Sahoo, a resident of Jagantsinghpur, who was working as a receptionist in the organisation.
As per reports, the security guard was agitated with the company management over salary issues. Armed with a knife, he tried to barge into the office. But when Bijayeeni reprimanded her, he stabbed her and fled from the spot.
Following the incident, the company staffs rushed the victim to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack, where she succumbed to her injuries. Later, the Mancheswar police arrested the accused.
City DCP Prateek Singh said, “We have apprehended the accused and are currently questioning him about the murder. We will question everybody including the building owner and the office staffs and try to ascertain the exact motive behind the crime.”
