In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Odisha Fire Services has now shifted its focus to disinfection of all Covid-19 care facilities from Monday.
Fire Services DGP Satyajit Mohanty informed that fire brigade personnel had earlier been engaged in disinfecting public places, public institutions, hospitals, temporary medical centres and quarantine centres. But from Monday, the focus would be on Covid facilities, including private hospitals that have been converted into Covid Hospitals.
“All the 338 fire stations will, henceforth, disinfect the Covid facilities on a daily basis,” Mohanty said, adding that fire brigade personnel have so far disinfected as many as 47,103 places, including the Orissa High Court in Cuttack and the Lok Sevak Bhawan in Bhubaneswar and several other Government buildings, hospitals and marketplaces.
