A fireman was electrocuted and three others sustained serious burn injuries after the ladder on which they were demonstrating various acts during a mock drill came in contact with an 11-KV live wire at Hatadiha in Anandpur of Keonjhar district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Sunil Soren. The mishap took place while the deceased and the three injured persons identified as Dukhishyam Tudu, Koushik Samant and Natabar Rout were doing their mock drills by riding an iron ladder. “Sunil was on the top of the ladder, and he directly received the shock resulting in his death on the spot. However, the other three firemen received only electric shocks,” said a senior fire brigade official.
They were rushed to the Anandpur hospital where doctors declared Sunil brought dead.
