Fire in Brundaban Palace; valuable trees lost

Published on:

A fire engulfed the historic Brundaban Palace here, one of the prime recreational spots of the Parala royal family, resulting in loss of valuable trees and plants.

Locals said some miscreants might have burnt the dry palm leaves in the orchard inside the palace; and only when the fire was sweeping through the park, people came to notice it.

The incident happened on Saturday evening. Though firemen controlled the blaze and stopped its further spread, many valuable trees and plants in the orchard were burnt. The fire spread to the entire orchard touching valuable trees and plants like teak, mango, palm tree, etc. The royal family had brought the plants and trees from Myanmar.
