The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) on Thursday lodged an FIR at the Jagatsinghpur police station against the Maa Ambika SC and ST Residential School at Sidhala, 8 km from here, alleging that the lack of infrastructures and other necessities is affecting the inmates’ daily life.

Notably, 186 students belonging SCs and STs have been residing in the school.

On a verification conducted by the DCPU, it was found that the school lacks minimum infrastructures like bathroom, drinking water and latrine for students. Even the school has no boundary wall and the inmates are deprived of sufficient foods, clothes and books.
