A day after Posco supporters and Nuagaon villagers pulled down a newly constructed boundary wall of Posco in Ramachandipada and Dadhibabanpada and set ablaze the firm’s site office, the builder SS Construction doing the construction work lodged an FIR in Abhyachandpur police station against 28 Nuagaon villagers on Sunday night.
Basing on the complaint, the police conducted preliminary investigation and registered a case. In another significant development, Nuagaon villagers erected a gate near Nuagaon High School prohibiting entry of Posco, Government officials and police to the village.
Meanwhile, reports said that the civil administration officials who had initiated holding talk with the aggrieved villagers failed to prevail upon the latter to stop their stir.
The villagers blamed the civil administration and Posco authority for the showing callousness in holding RPDAC meeting as promised and sort out a few demands. However, district Collector SK Mallick said the administration was making preparation for the proposed meeting.
