A women candidate has been found faking certificates for a Gramin Dak Sevak post in Kendrapada district. A case has been lodged against her and an inquiry was on.

A notification for 15 posts including three Branch Post Masters and 12 Assistant Branch Postmasters for Kendrapada Postal Division was published on January 27. The candidates had applied online and later, a selection list was published by CEPT, Hyderabad. The candidates who were in the selection list were asked for certificate verification at Kendrapada Postal Division office on March 21. Six candidates came to the Superintendent of Post Offices, Kendrapada Division, including Anita Jena of Lunia in Arnapal of Bhadrak district.

Superintendent of Post Offices, Kendrapada Division, Debaraj Sethy said, “I doubted the genuineness of the 10th board certificate furnished by Anita Jena, who was a married woman. Anita Jena submitted the 10th class certificate that was issued from Adarsh Arya SS HSS Tarauli Hardoi of Uttar Pradesh. She secured 579 marks out of a total 600 marks in 10th Examination. Though she was born in 1990, she passed Matriculation in 2009 at the age of 19 years. When I asked why she did not go for Plus Two studies, she failed to give a satisfactory answer. Nor could she tell the pass-out year of her matriculation. Later, Anita confessed before me that she furnished fake certificates after obtaining them at a cost of Rs 30,000.”

Sethy later lodged an FIR against Jena.
