Tension broke out at Rajkanika on Friday following Ali Congress MlA Debendra Sharma allegedly manhandled Charapada sarapanch Aswani Samal while he opposed the MlA’s misbehaviour with Rajkanika BDO Ramesh Behera. Sharma allegedly misbehaved with the BDO while a block level committee meeting was on, said Rajkanika police station IIC Sandhyarani Behuria.
Sarpanch Samal lodged an FIR at the Rajkanika police station against the MlA in this regard. On the other hand, Zila Parishad member of zone 29 laxmipriya Mallick, who is the supporter of Sharma, lodged an FIR against Samal for giving casteist remarks against her at the meeting.
Meanwhile, Rajkanika police have registered two cases, including a case against MlA Sharma in this regard and were conducting an inquiry. No one had been arrested, IIC Behuria said.
