An FIR has been lodged against Odisha Association for Blind president and others for allegedly misbehaving with the wife of a blind man and threatening and damaging her cabin from which she used to manage her livelihood. Rashmirekha Pati, wife of Bhagaban Pati, a blind person, a resident of Rajkumar slum in Satyanagar area has lodged the complaint at the Kharvela Nagar police station.
According to Rashmirekha, she earned livelihood by erecting a cabin near the association building. “On December 24 evening Odisha Association for Blind president Prashant Bhuyan and Jayanta Rout came to my shop and used slangs and threatened to eliminate me. On December 25 morning when I came to open my shop it was overturned and items like airbed, air sopha and wallet worth Rs 1 lakk were stolen,” Rashmireka complained. She urged the police to take legal action against those involved in the crime.
