The Navnirman Krushak Sangathan on Wednesday brought allegation of violation of Covid norms against the BJD and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the recent recital of Bande Utkal Janani and filed a police complaint against them.
A NKS team led by national convenor Akshay Kumar and State convenor Sheshadeb Nanda filed the FIR at the Capital police station here.
“All organisations, including political parties, have been restricted for holding public meetings as per Covid-19 guidelines. FIRs have also been lodged against some political parties for holding such meetings. Covid norm was severely violated during recital of Bande Utkal Janani on the call of the Chief Minister. He should be booked for this,” said Kumar.
He said no social distancing was maintained in Puri where over 40,000 people gathered and sang Utkal Janani.
