The Lalbagh police in Cuttack city on Sunday arrested a woman agent of a private finance company, her lover and a juvenile for orchestrating a looting incident.The arrested duo was identified as Priyanka Sahu and her lover Arabinda Nayak.
According to the police, Priyanka was in urgent need of money. After watching some episodes of crime serial, she along with her lover Arabinda hatched a conspiracy for the loot.
As per the plan, Priyanka had asked her colleague in the company, Sadiya Khatun to come to Sutahat Church to receive some money. As Sadiya was about to left the place with the cash bag, two unidentified bike-borne miscreants snatched the bag from her and fled from the spot. Later, Sadiya lodged a complaint with the Lalbag police following which an investigation was initiated.
During probe, the police on suspicion interrogated Priyanka. Following which she confessed to the crime and revealed the entire plan. Later, the police produced the accused before a court which sent them to judicial custody.
