A longstanding demand for an Additional District Judge [ADJ] Court at Kujang has been fulfilled. A law Department notification stated that an ADJ Court will open in Kujang judicial periphery shortly.
The development was welcomed by the local bar association, business community, social organizations and civilians from Kujang. The locals here would be relieved from moving to Jagatsinghpur district headquarters where the ADJ Court functions at present.
The jubilant lawyers and legal professionals on Wednesday met District Judge RN Mishra during his visit to Kujang and requested opening of the sanctioned ADJ Court soon.
On the other hand, the Jagatsinghpur legal fraternity has shown displeasure over shifting of several courts to Kujang judicial jurisdiction as cases flow from Paradip, Ersama and Kujang have declined.
The Jagatsinghpur Bar Association held an emergency meeting on Thursday and demanded opening of a family court and Vigilance court in the district headquarters. The association resolved to hold ceasework on Friday to press their demand.
