The Twin City Commissionerate Police on Monday arrested Ollywood producer Ajitav Mallik for allegedly duping a woman Assistant Professor of the Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, of Rs 85 lakh on the pretext of selling her a duplex house.
As per reports, the accused had received the amount from the victim in multiple installments for providing her the duplex worth Rs 1 crore located at Kolathia in Bhubaneswar. However, he then remained untraceable and didn’t sell the property to her.
The woman had lodged a complaint in this regard with the Khandagiri police. Investigating into the case, police arrested the accused.
Notably, Ajitav has produced Odia film ‘Arundhati’ and also acted in the movie.
