A three-member experts’ team from the Federation of International Hockey (FIH) visited the Kalinga Stadium here on Monday to take stock of the facilities and field study ahead of the Hockey World league (HWl) final matches to be held in December.
The team examined the pitch of the hockey field on the basis of five parameters and would submit a report to the FIH about the stadium.
Expert team member Symond Clarie said, “The report will be submitted after a study of the pitch performance and its impact on players.” The HWl matches would be held from December 1 to 5. On the opening day, Germany will play against England whereas in the second match India will clash with Australia.
Eight teams, in two groups, will play three matches each during the league stage over six days before the finals.
