Rourkela youth Muktikanta Biswal, who had gone to Delhi to meet the Prime Minister to remind him of his promises, returned to his hometown on Sunday morning and received a rousing welcome.

According to sources, Muktikanta had walked around 1350 km over 71 days and had reached Delhi on June 27 to remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi of his two promises made on April 1, 2015 to upgrade the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) to Super Specialty Hospital and Medical College and construction of a second bridge over  river Brahmani.

However, Muktikanta was not cooperated by Sundargarh MP and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, who rather branded him Congress-sponsored.

Thereafter, he had tried to meet the Prime Minister, but on failing he sat on a dharana. But the Delhi police foiled his agitation by lifting him from the dharana place and warning him of not doing so. later, at the behest of Baba Balia, Muktikanta had called off his stir.

On Sunday morning when he reached Rourkela, hundreds of men and youths amid a grand procession with beats of dhol received him. He was garlanded and was taken to a nearby temple where he offered prayer to the deities.

“After reaching my hometown today, I am feeling happy. However, I am disappointed as my wish remains unfulfilled,” said Muktikanta in his reaction.

He, however, told that his fight would continue until the problems are resolved.
